Potluck and Silent Auction

Thanks to the Wilsonia Daughters of the American Revolution club for hosting the Saturday, July 4th Potluck. Lois Tripp, Sally Tripp, Corky Harmon and Sheri Parkinson decorated the clubhouse for the evening. After the meal, Corky Harmon gave us all a brief history of the DAR, and told us about the charitable work the local DAR chapters are involved in. She also reminded us about how fortunate we are to live in the time we do, reminding us about the difficult living conditions just a little over 100 years ago when the DAR was first formed. Thanks Corky!

The silent auction, organized by Sheri Parkinson, was a great success again this year. When all the money comes in, the total proceeds for the evening will be just shy of $900. Thanks to all who donated and shopped. Special thanks to Gail Friesen, Sara DeJager, Chuck and Penny Burgin, Ave Hawkins, and Ty and Sheri Parkinson for their generous donations to the auction. A big thanks also to Will Olds for donating a hand-crafted child’s Adirondack chair, third year in a row he has made a chair just for the auction. To all those who donated so many wonderful items, some of you anonymously, THANK YOU!
