It’s official, the Wilsonia Historic District Amendment was approved and recorded by the NPS National Register of Historic Places.

The amendment was approved on June 1st, we received an email notification on July 15th with this link listing the actions.

Wilsonia, through the work of the Wilsonia Historic District Trust, is in the final stages of an update to the Wilsonia Historic District with the State Office of Historic Preservation (SHPO). If approved, more cabins would be added as contributing structures to the Historic District. This will help solidify the historic status of our village. There is a hearing on the amendment to the Historic District with SHPO scheduled for Friday, July 30th at 10 am in Sacramento. In advance of that, Gus Collin, WHDT President, requests that interested cabin owners send in letters of support for the amendment to the State Office.

The letters would need to be faxed or emailed (with your letter as an attached pdf file) in by June 30th – apologies for the very short notice.

Here is a sample letter written by Jim Spitze, WHDT board secretary. Please feel free to use this as a guideline for your letter, you may copy and paste those parts which you want to use, but please try to personalize your letter.
